TRAUMA -
REPATTERNING THE NERVOUS SYSTEM FOR PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL SAFETY
We continue the work of the heart and navel centers as we give focused attention to strong emotional triggers and working with trauma through meditation. By re-training the nervous system to bring a feeling of safety in the body, we can help both the nervous system and the mind move past being stuck in survival mode. This course will present modern approaches to working with trauma in the context of ancient techniques that have stood the test of time over thousands of years. The synthesis of modern with ancient wisdom offers us clarity on key practices. This section will be co-taught by Mary Johnston-Coursey and Bonnie Wallace
We begin our study by exploring the nature of trauma, including how trauma affects the mind, the emotions, and the nervous system. We then draw from Tantric teachings to understand the relationship between suffering and healing. Finally, we weave together both age-old and contemporary techniques, incorporating supportive practices to create a wholistic approach to meditation.
