Calming the mind and settling into witness consciousness is the bedrock of all forms of meditation, at all stages, no matter the style or tradition. In Tantric meditation, we use this foundation as a springboard to access inner light, healing, intuition, and higher states of awareness. Even as we progress along our journey, we never truly leave this first stage. We will come back to it again and again and again, finding each time new gifts that arise from the quiet mind.
We use this first module to define meditation in both the Classical sense and the Tantric tradition. This gives us a broad perspective and firm foundation for building our Tantric meditation practice.
We will then establish the key aspects of meditation that must be mastered in order for the more ‘advanced’ techniques to bear any fruit at all. This includes exploring our relationship to stillness, silence and breath. We then hone in on the workings of the mind - we will learn to recognize and step away from those aspects of mind that sabotage us, while befriending those aspects that will lead us forward to become our greatest allies on the spiritual journey.
